In order to speed up the agricultural modernization in Henan Province and strengthen the scientific, technological and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and Britain, the Sino-British Science and Technology Innovation Platform invited a British delegation headed by Earl bathurst IX, a consultant of the British central government and former president of the Royal Agricultural University, to Luoyang to investigate the smart farming project. Mayor Liu Hai of Luoyang Old Town Government extended a warm welcome to the delegation, introduced the cultural features and economic development of Luoyang in detail, and hoped to strengthen communication with the delegation, deepen exchanges, impart successful experiences and jointly promote the development of the project.
Zhang Yu, Ph.D. of Institute of Computer Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences and technical leader of smart farming project, showed the smart farming project to the delegation in detail. The Smart Farming Project is a "Smart Farming Demonstration Park of Hilly Landform in Western Henan" jointly established by Luoyang Old Town People's Government and Luoyang Branch of Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The project gathers domestic first-class agricultural science and technology resources, and strives for an innovative platform corresponding to Henan, a big agricultural province, for the Central Plains granary in the State and Ministry of Science and Technology.
